Culture & Arts

A colorful mural depicting a group of five figures dancing, showcasing traditional Haitian dress and cultural expressions against a vibrant, orange background.

When we visited The Art Gallery they were exhibiting Sacred Diagrams: Haitian Vodou Flags From The Gessen Collection. Exploring Haiti’s spiritual Vodou religion, these flags are made from burlap bags, fabric, beads and sequins creating intricate images used as ceremonial flags in the 1950s and 1960s. The exhibits rotate several times a year so visit the website for their exhibition calendar.
