The Vegetarian Guru

We love it when one of our Guru’s recommends a place they cannot live without. Maxi Alvarez, the co-owner of Fiorito, our favorite Argentine steakhouse, told us that on his day off he eats at the vegetarian restaurant The Plantisserie. We met with Maria Laura Alemann who along with her husband created this novel concept of healthy, clean, homemade style food you can purchase by the pound. She “veganized”all of her childhood favorite recipes: curries. lasagnas, stuffed eggplants, empanadas and even pizzas.

Discover why The Plantisserie has a cult-like following among non-vegetarians and vegans alike. One of the secrets is that she hires actual grandmothers to cook traditional recipes.
