Culture & Arts

Colorful exterior of the Caribbean Marketplace, also known as 'Mache Ayisyen', featuring vibrant yellow and blue architecture under a clear blue sky.

Located in an area formerly known as Lemon City, Little Haiti is a vibrant and colorful neighborhood that is home to the largest Haitian community in the United States. The Marketplace, built by architect Charles Pawley, is a replica of Port au Prince’s Iron Market, and you will find food, art, and artisanal crafts for sale. We recommend visiting on a Saturday when everything is open.
