Perez Art Museum
LOCALS KNOW TO BRING visitors to this modern and contemporary art museum dedicated to works from the 20th and 21st century. Designed by Pritzker’s prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron, PAMM’s great architectural tours highlight a magnificent building and the best views of this city’s port. Visit throughout the year since it rotates its permanent collection that includes work by Kehinde Wiley, Anish Kapoor, Wilfredo Lam, Jose Bedia, and many other contemporary artists. Early 2023 features an amazing installation of a pool by Leandro Erlich, entitled “Liminal”, and Christo’s gorgeous homage to Biscayne Bay. Some of you may remember “Surrounded Islands” where the couple surrounded 11 islands from Haulover to the Venetians with pink woven fabric for 2 weeks, highlighting how people in Miami live between land and water. The museum is also host to some of the city’s best parties, so membership unofficially can be considered Miami’s best dating site.
Make sure to explore the huge veranda decorated with exotic hanging plants and sculptures. Enjoy a snack at Verde Cafe while taking in one of the best views of the city.
