FRANK Quintero
The Composer Guru
By the time Frank attended Berklee College of Music in 1979, he had already recorded three albums with CBS Columbia and was famous in his native Venezuela. He has had a prolific career releasing 21 records and he continues to tour in the US and Europe. He has called Miami home for the last three decades and has a loyal following from the thousands of Venezuelans that now call Miami their home. We caught up with him before he left on a three-week tour of Venezuela, his first national tour in five years.
In our interview he recalled the early days of driving to jazz shows in New York, how new generations are discovering his music through his shows and how opening his music school has led to a new career in teaching.
