The Abbey Brewing Company
If any place can boast the title of “standing the test of time” it would be The Abbey. We used to go when it first opened in 1995, Miami’s first official craft beer bar, a small neighborhood joint off the beaten path from glitzy South Beach where, like Cheers, everybody knew your name.
Now, 27 years later, the Mayor of Miami Beach declared June 26th “Abbey Brewing Company Day.” It is still your neighborhood bar, away from the glitz, serving craft beers on tap, now just larger and with a liquor license. Come for “Whiskey Wednesdays” or have a weekly special hot dog every Sunday. And yes, it is still where everybody knows your name.
